Application Guide
First off let me disclose
that these are recommendations for using newer wheels on older cars and also upgrading your
newer vehicle. There are by no means for us to state facts
on every car that was produced. The recommendations are from
cars we have done. Use it at your own risk. WE ARE FAMILIAR
WITH THE WHEELS WE SELL AND THEREFORE CAN PROVIDE THIS
INFORMATION TO YOU, WE WOULD RECOMMEND CONTACTING THE
MANUFACTURE OR SALES DESK IF YOUR WHEELS ARE PURCHASED FROM
OTHER SOURCES AS THEY MAY DIFFER FROM OUR WHEELS. "In
all fairness please refrain from calling us about fitment
from purchases made elsewhere", we'd like to help but we'd
rather not hinder our operations for other suppliers who
don't know much about their own wheels. E-mail works best so we can offer you the FREE
support you need without holding up the phone lines.
We usually reply within the first 24 hours so please be
patient.
We will not provide fitment information over the
phone.
There are many wheels and
myriad of sizes and offsets that came from the factory. Some
wheels are not approved for certain models because the wheel
and tire technology was not in use when these cars were
made.
I
believe the single most improvement on your car for
performance can be the right wheel and tire set up. It not
only will improve handling but also braking when updating
your car to the latest wheel and tire set up. It is just
like playing basket ball with an old set on Converse Chuck
Taylor's. The shoes have little to no support and about the
same on the sole. As soon as you slip on a new pair of
Jordan's you realize how shoes have improved. It is the same
with your wheel and tire set up.
Porsche
is moving to larger and larger wheel diameters for numerous
reasons. Back in the 80's 16" wheels were the state of the
art now Porsche has moved into the 19" diameter wheel range
with the overall diameter of the wheels and tire just about
that as the 16" wheels used in the 80's. So you too can
benefit from larger diameter wheels for your older car.

Newer wheels on these cars can be
done with spacers. Offset similar to early 944 23.3
front and 15mm rear. The wheels will need to be no wider
than 9" on the rear. 10" to 11" rears will work but
there are some modifications needed to a few things
trailing arm bolt, passenger side oil lines, fender
rolling, and proper tire choice to name a few.
911SC with 18x8 et50mm on all for
corners. 7mm spacer front and 25mm spacer rear.

| 911 89-94
(AKA 964) |
This car is known as the
964. Same fenders as earlier cars but a totally new
suspension. New offset for the 911. Now the car is
inline with the rest of the Porsche models for offset.
Car can run most of the newer wheels. Boxster wheels
work best as some later model Carrera wheels will need a
spacer to bring them out. The car works with 8"-9"
wheels with offsets from 45mm to 60mm in the front. Rear
the offset needs to be 58mm or lower for 9" and 10"
wheels. The turbo version 965 uses the same offset
wheels as the narrow body. This confuses most people
thinking they can use later model wide body wheels on
these cars.

(AKA 993) |
This car is known as the 993. There
are two versions of this car the narrow body and the
wide body versions C2S, C4S, and the Turbo. Offsets for
this car is generally 8"-9" front with 45mm -55mm. The
Narrow body rear uses 9" with 55mm offset and a 10" with
47mm to 65mm offset. With the 47mm you will have to
watch the tire size. The car can use 19" wheels but the
rear wheels can be no wider than 10.5" . Wide body cars
can use the 996 wide body wheels in 18x11 et45mm for the
rear.

This car has an early
version and a late version plus a wide body. All the
cars typically have either 7.5" or 8" wheels with a 50mm
offset in the front. GT2 GT3 18x8.5 offset 40mm front. The
rear is typically the 18x10 offset 65mm. The 99-01 cars have
a little narrower track in the rear but use the 65mm offset
wheel. On the 99-01 cars you can use up to 11" wide rears
with an offset of 52mm. The factory 997 wheel in 19x11
offset 67mm will need a small spacer in the rear with some
tires. The 2002 and up cars do not have this issue as the
track was slightly widened. GT3 is 18x11 offset 63mm.
